The planet of Thraeruf is a blue-green world with 4 large continents and one large moon. The planet is inhabities by furries of many varieties, with many cultures and many nations. The world is largely mature TL8 and has enjoyed an extended period of peace in recent decades.

Vandalia
Vandalia is the wealthiest nation of significant size on Thraeruf, being the second largest by land area. It is a democratic republic with fairly loose laws.
Vandalia is technologically advanced but also very irregular, with many areas highly advanced and others lagging behind. The Vandalia has a scientific research alliance with the Nebularn Alliance, an co-maintains a single moon base and space station for scientific research.

Danderi Peoples Socialist Union (DPSU)
The Danderi Peoples Socialist Union, hereafter refered to as the DPSU, is the single largest nation on the planet by both population and land area. The DPSU is an autocratic communist nation that has adopted very harsh isolationist policies to maintain its control over it's own population
The DPSU was the long time rival of Vandalia, the two nations constantly challenging each other for dominance in every area. This came to an end when the DPSU suffered a string of stinging defeats that were threatening to destabalize it's internal politics. The DPSU decided against reform, isolating itself from the outside world and becoming increasingly static and technologically backwards. Their moon base was abandoned long ago, and currently only maintain a small number of satellites.
The DPSU is a static TL7, a full TL behind the rest of the world, but has managed to achieve near self-suffiency producing all it's own technology, food and energy. The DPSU trades some raw materials with the outside world, along with art and curios, but isolation means civilians on both sides have little idea about the lives of the others.
Citizens of the DPSU have wired landline phones in their homes, as well as TV's, radios and type writers, but computers are limited to terminals attached to mainframes at work places or government offices.
The DPSU has a number of "science cities" and secret laboraties that develop advanced technology and mad science, which are kept away from the general public.
Nebularn Alliance
Greater Kerat
Greater Kerat is the largest nation on the continent of Keratera. The nation claims nearly two-thirds of the continent, but in reality control very little of their claimed territory away from their cities along the coast and central river. Many native tribes have no knwledge that their lands have been claimed by another power and live as they have for thousands of years.
Greater Kerat is a nation of scalies (reptilian furries) who regard mamals, birds and even dragons as foreigners who are welcome to visit but never to stay.
Each city in Greater Kerat is nearly a city-state, controled by a single species or group of related species of scalies
Because the indiginous people of Keratera who occupy most of the land claimed by Greater Kerat do not recognize their authority, the nation is unable to effectively exploit it's own resources. Oil wells, mines and logging camps all face constant raids and destruction if not heavily guarded.

The Rachis Peoples
The Rachis peoples aren't a single nation, instead they area a huge number of scattered enclaves and micro-nations all across the world.
These avian people are tremendously mobile, traveling farther and more frequently than most others. Their towns and villages can be found almost anywhere, often in difficult to reach locations.
The Rachis Peoples are often refered to as if they were a nation with a central government, which is not remotely true. They follow the laws and norms of whatever nation they occupy, but have their own culture which always sets them apart.
The Aquatic Species
There are no underwater nations or permanent settlements, only nomadic tribes that roam the world's oceans.
Those individuals who are capable of surviving indefinitely on land almost always do so, migrating permanently to the surface nations. This is simply regarded as the natural order of things by the aquatic peoples, not as any form of exile or punishment.
