Fur City

Fur City

Fur City is located in the great plains along the banks of the Furry River, which runs down the center of the Furinurth Valley.

Fur City sits on the intersection of two major rail lines, one heading north-South the other heading East-West. This means the city has a fair amount of rail traffic and direct rail connections to many of their neighbors.

The city has four primary forms of public transportation: busses, trolleys, light rail and the subway. These systems are well designed, covering the entire city and run 24/7, though with reduced frequency at night. While single-ride tickets can be purchased when boarding, a Trans-Pass can be purchased that allows unlimited use of all city public transport for a specific period. This period can range from 1 day to 1 year. All students and staff at Furry University are given a 1 year pass with their tuition.

Furry University

Furry University, or FU, is well known for having a comprehensive offering of degree programs. While not considered the “best” in any particular category, it’s above average offerings and low tuition attract students from all across the nation.

Furry University has a wide range of clubs and extracurricular activities

The Red Light District

The Furry City Red Light District is a somewhat self-contained city-within-a-city. It is separated from the rest of the city by natural barriers such as drainage ditches, a rail line spur and the highway. It has it’s own small police department and is exempt from many city regulations and ordinances.

The Red Light District was once an unremarkable section of Furry City dominated by a mall with a sports center as an anchor store. As time moved on the financial center of the city moved away from this area and it experienced a serious economic downturn, with many stores closing. At the same time prostitution and sex shops and theaters were springing up across the city, often in areas where they were not wanted. The city established the Red Light District, an extremely permissive area where such businesses could freely operate, while at the same time clamping down firmly on such activities in the rest of the city. Steady redevelopment has given the entire area it’s own erotic artistic flare. This combined with both public nudity and sex being permitted can result in crossing the border into the modern Red Light District feeling like stepping into an exotic city.

Yiffy Burger

Yiffy Burger is a local chain of fast food restaurants going back more than half a century. At the time, “Yiffy” was slang for awesome, and the business refuses to change it’s name in light of the slang’s shifting meaning.

Yiffy Burger is well known for it's roller skate wearing waitresses, who will bring food to customers in their cars and outside dining areas

The chain is found across the city, including the Red Light District.

Yiffy Burger has never had it's own delivery service, now relying on 3rd party services like Scamper Noms. The excpetion to this in the Red Light District, where the Yiffy Burger in the Metronome Complex will serve the entire complex like it is an extended dining area.

Opal's Salon

Opal’s Salon is a high-end, all-in-one beauty service establishment. It offers everything from hair and fur cuts, dyes, manicures and pedicures, fur-toos (temporary designs shaved and dyed into the fur), tattoos, piercings, massages and more.

The establishment is located in the downtown area of a wealthy suburb of Furry City and owns it’s own building. Because many of it’s services require multiple hours or nudity, Opal’s Salon hasmany private rooms.

Food Delivery

Scamper Noms is a food delivery service that serves the entire Furry City area, with the slogan “Get some Noms.”

It is the largest and most prominent such service, used by virtually every restaurant that does not have it’s own delivery service. If you get it delivered, it’s probably going to be delivered by Scamper Noms.

The workforce is split between full time and part time employees, with many part timers using their own vehicles. They maintain a fleet of iconic delivery motorcycles and the rarely seen delivery van.

Mirage Hypno Therapy

Mirage Hypno Therapy is notable in that it's main office is well outside the red light district, in an upper class suburban area in a converted home.

It provides actual therapy, generally stress reduction for overworked professionals. It also serves as a place where non-hypnotist guests are recruited, since their thoughts and feelings on hypnosis can be openly and directly questioned as part of the therapy. For this reason MHT advertises they accept walk-ins without referrals and have occasional "war on stress" days where services are provided for free (subjects chosen by lottery due to limited slots).

The Metronome Club

The Metronome Club, or simply the Metronome, is an enormous nightclub that sits at the edge of the Red Light District. It occupies an entire converted mall and thus is the largest nightclub in the entire city, and sits just barely outside the official Red Light District. It is divided into a public area, open to anyone, and a private area open only to club members.

The Metronome Club has a huge influence all across the Red Light District, and can be explored in more detail on it's own page.
